Education

Education gives people the freedom to shape their own destinies.  For us, it's investing in the future. Our investment thus far: we've helped over 11,000 children go to school in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, India and Pakistan, with more to come every year.  Read More
 
Health Care

Health care is important, and we're serious about it.  Our commitment is to both the delivery of essential medical care in clinics, eye camps and hospitals and to training the next generation of doctors - both western and traditional - midwives and nurses. Read More
 
Preserving Cultural Treasures

For Buddhist communities, temples and monasteries are at the heart of the culture. Many of these sacred spaces contain breathtaking art and architecture - often centuries old, often in need of rescue. The Environment

Himalayan ecology is as fragile as it is dramatically beautiful. And it is under intense pressure. We combat environmental degradation by planting trees (almost 2 million so far), supporting sustainable agriculture, and building new water systems - for both people and imperiled animals. Read More
 
Tibetans in Exile

Many Tibetan refugees in Nepal and the remote settlement camps in India need help with the basics - food, education, healthcare and shelter.  They also need a way, in their uncertain lives as exiles, to make a living.  We help with both. Read More
 
Inside Tibet

Tibetan nomads inside Tibet struggle to survive and keep a tenuous hold on their traditional way of life.  We bring the very basics: clean water, bridges, schools, clinics and care for elderly, to the most remote and isolated Tibetan communities in eastern Tibet.  A little help goes a long way here. Sherpas and Everest
