The Hospital on the Hill

“You see these children transform when they come here,” says Dr. Bibek Banskota. “When they get some love, when they get their dignity and hope back, they start smiling again. That is what inspires all of us.”

Everyone at the Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children (HRDC) — from nurses and prosthetic makers to cooks and security guards — is fueled by compassion. Led by Bibek and his father, Dr. Ashok Banskota, the hospital has become a world-renowned pediatric orthopedic institution that has treated nearly 100,000 children in need with unparalleled skill and empathy.  With the mobile camps, they are reaching into every corner of Nepal to make sure that poor disabled children can receive the care they need and deserve.
