Celebrating Milestones and Inspirations

A big thanks to everyone who made our "50 Years of Inspiration- Doing good, Being kind" celebration, on Oct. 30, 2018, a grand success!

It was a wonderful evening of celebrating compassion. As our founder Richard Blum said, “You’re all in this because you want to. You are all kind folks.”

For the 65th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest, two iconic climbers, Pete Athans and Apa Sherpa, took us up the world’s highest mountain with their moving personal stories. Art conservator Luigi Fieni drew on two decades of bringing deities back to life, with his images and tales of the long, complex journey from ruins to splendor in Mustang. And Phakchok Rimpoche left us spellbound with his pithy, humorous reflections on how to be radically happy.

“Meditation is blind without reflection,” the young master reminded us.

We also had an enthusiastic auction of some wonderful and rare items: Ed Hillary's drawing of his Everest ascent, Luigi's photograph of Mount Nilrigi, a dinner for four at the Three Michelin star Quince, and a luxurious trip in the Mount Everest region and champagne breakfast at the world's higest resort with Yeti Mountain Homes

Once again, thank you for your kindness and for being part of the AHF family. Here are a few glimpses of the festive night:
